While we're on the subject of gifts given to Eleanor, here's one given by Tim and Angie a couple of weeks ago, modeled for us by the lovely Millicent:
Tim and Angie decided that the best name for our second child is Denny Crane, and they refuse to let go of the dream. (there's no photos of her in it to post, because it's been too cold here in Sydney for her to wear it without several layers on top)

And here's 2 shots for comparison:

Eleanor Langeluddecke:
and Ladies and Gentlemen, Denny Crane!

anyway, here's a photo of the girls taken this morning:
Darius & Kristi finally got their stuff they shipped back from NYC out of customs, and they bought Eleanor a gift, seen here being modeled by my lovely assistant Donna:

Eleanor's "My Dad Is A Geek" onesie, modelled by her Mum.

I would have objected to this blatant slur upon my character, but unfortunately any defence I could conceveably muster was rendered moot, due to the hoodie I was wearing at the time:

Eleanor's Dad, wearing incriminating Doctor Who Dalek Hoodie. Obvious Geek with no defence.

I bought the top at the Glebe markets, though. Does that make me at least an Inner-West Sydney wannabe hipster Geek, at least?

Ghost in the Machine: The Clash, originally uploaded by iri5.

this is cool - picture made from an old tape of that famous Clash image:

This is the most brilliant toy ever created by a human. I need one, but the girls don't. They wouldn't enjoy it as much as I would.

Incidentally, if you can tell me why a Narwhal needs to avenge itself against a koala, I'd be very grateful.
I Must Know Of The Need For Koala Vengance!

Is your life full of drama?

Do you feel that the drama in your life lacks musical acknowledgement?

Perhaps you should go to http://www.dramabutton.com/, and press the button.

There, that's better.

And this, Ladies & Gentlemen, is why (despite the usual frustrations and irritations any job gies you) it's very, very cool to work at the Australian Museum sometimes:

Seen walking through the Loading Dock at work the other week, as I wandered off to get a coffee mid-morning. Who says dinosaurs are extinct?

another video, showing Millicent on her balance bike after tootling around the markets on Addison Road yesterday. Note Eleanor in the sling on Donna, too.

Another one for the survivors of the '80s. A video mashup of Magnum P.I. and Star Wars. It is very silly, yet better than any of the prequals. Or anything Tom Selleck did after Magnum, for that matter:

It's actually a pretty impressive piece of work matching the scenes, as shown by this comparison:

remember, I post these things here so I don't have to make them myself...

'cos I could, honestly. No really. Shut up.
Just watched this, and I now have an urge to watch '80s teen coming of age movies.

It's a big problem.
We visited a brand new playground in Sydney Park yesterday, one we'd been hearing rumours about for months. The place is fantastic, with huge play equipment, heaps of paths, hidden things in the bushes and so on. Milly loved it, and loved tootling around on her bike (almost knocking over smaller kids as she went)
